Hard to read

Oh, wow. This was a tough book to get through.

I liked the initial premise - boy gets a new job and is immediately attracted to his hot boss. And the author did a pretty good job of characterizing Joshua, which was good, because the story is told largely from his point of view.

But the story really bogs down when it starts talking about the marketing business. It goes into WAAAAY too much detail about the industry and a particular business firm and job proposal the characters are involved in. Clearly, the author knows a bit about the industry on their own, and wanted to really set up the incident that brings our two characters together. But it was REALLY tedious!

Ultimately, the story was nice, the characters well drawn and mostly interesting. And the sex was pretty good! Where the story really failed was the writing. Very few contractions were used in dialogue, so the characters sounded unnaturally stilted. Much of the grammar and phrasing sounded like it had been translated from another language. "With also officially being your assistant, but much rather one with advertising experience rather than just secretary experience, I will be able to relieve you of the more mundane workload you have..." says Joshua when interviewing for his job. We also got such things as "The man he had the pleasure of having was delectable and oh-so-satisfying between the sheets that Jack wanted nothing more than to get out of the meeting room." Most sentences were so long and convoluted that I couldn't even tell if they were grammatically correct. It was just very hard to read!

I will not be buying more works by this author.

Best Candidate for the job

Joshua interviews with Jack for a job at the company. Jack is a high power advertising executive with a successful business. Joshua has great credentials and good experience. Joshua sets out to better organize Jack's schedule, be his personal assistant, make sure he eats regularly and not spend excessive amounts of time so involved in his work that he has not life.
Joshua keeps his personal life quiet but begins to develop a friendship with his boss, Jack. The friendship and work relationship grows. Joshua secretly wants Jack but assumes that Jack play for the other team. Then Jack takes Joshua on a business trip to New York. They care of the client in New York and then discover that they play for the same team and find lots of pleasure with their bats and balls. They explore each other's dugout. The business trip was success for them not only with the client but with each other.
